We are looking to grow our business development team by adding a senior business development manager for technology, media, and communications. We now have more than 1000 lawyers, 300+ partners, 29 offices, and 17 jurisdictions.

Our sector-first strategy is supported in large part by the Senior BD Manager.

The position calls for a proactive, engaging, and energizing attitude in addition to good business acumen, and the capacity to swiftly learn the company and develop a wide range of contacts. We're searching for someone who can bring strategic thinking, solid planning and consulting skills, a desire to get down in the weeds, and a hands-on approach to carrying out the fulfillment of the groups' business strategies.


The position is crucial to our ability to build on client development and profile-raising work already completed and to continue developing a more systematic approach to BD operations. It is essential to assist the company in adopting a more commercial perspective toward its clients and its activities.


You will be a part of a business development, marketing, and communications team that is already well-known and esteemed by partners and other fee-earners in the firm for its high caliber of service, as well as the concepts and dedication it brings to business development.





Your Key Responsibilities

  • Take the initiative to define, drive, and achieve the TMC sector group's strategic priorities by offering tactical and strategic support to promote revenue growth.
  • With the ultimate goal of expanding and promoting revenue development from current and potential clients in the TMC industry, lead activity is conducted to targeted clients, intermediaries, and key prospects.
  • Develop a strong personal network of TMC industry players, influencers, and clients.
  • Identify subjects, go-to-market goods, and concepts with the assistance of sector heads, partners, PSLs, analysts, and business development colleagues from across the company to explore potential targets and create new business prospects.
  • Pitch for new business - lead new business prospects in the TMC sector, collaborating with the Pitch team and BD colleagues to provide sector information and assist design our proposition so we can capture market share and win important mandates.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Communications team members to implement and drive successful profile-raising strategies, such as our approach to thought leadership, speaking engagements, events, directories, awards, industry memberships, sponsorships, and partnerships that increase the positive word-of-mouth exposure of our TMC sector group.
  • Utilize our CRM platform to find chances and intelligence while monitoring the sector's development and successes, normalizing the idea that our CRM is the center of business intelligence.

Information, expertise, and experience

We're seeking someone who possesses the following qualifications:

  • A strong desire to learn more about the thriving IT, media, and communications sectors.
  • A dependable advisor with a keen commercial awareness, an inclination toward action, and a can-do attitude.
  • An aggressive, persistent, and inventive strategy.
  • Strong business development/client relationship management experience from the legal or professional services sector at a comparable level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate fee earners to meet corporate objectives and alter behavior as necessary.
  • The capacity to manage several projects and deliver under time constraints
