This Sales Operations Analyst will join a team of experts who help Canonical sales teams achieve their business goals. The Sales Operations team drives continuous process and data quality improvement to ensure orders are processed correctly. The successful candidate will be a leader who shows initiative in improving the way the team works, maintaining compliance and associated governance.

The success of the role is measured against increasing the velocity of deals and the quality of CRM data used to drive key business decisions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver and team player who is passionate about the opportunity to partner with sales leadership, is also passionate about our role in the technology industry bringing open source to a wider audience of innovators and enterprises, and will design and drive programs in support of Canonical's continued success.




Key responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the sales function globally
  • Review opportunities for accuracy and provision orders on successful closure of a deal
  • Support the Sales Operations Manager to improve sales data quality and processes
  • Report on data quality metrics to executive level stakeholders
  • Implement NPS surveys and define metrics for executive-level stakeholders
  • Support the sales team globally on CRM and other sales operations systems
  • Deliver sales metrics, dashboards, and other ad-hoc analytical tasks

What Your Day Will Look Like
  • Manage a team of product marketing managers covering all of the Canonical portfolios; Cloud, IoT, applications, Ubuntu, Security...
  • Lead on the development of compelling messaging and positioning that emphasizes the business value and connects with target audiences throughout the buying journey
  • Prioritise and orchestrate your team's activities to maximize overall pipeline generation and individual product growth
  • Conceive and execute customer base communications and marketing programs to acquire new users, upsell and cross-sell into our large base of customers
  • Collaborate with data science teams, utilizing data and insights to create and improve strategies that drive traffic to our content, optimizing marketing funnels

The data platform team is a collaborative team that develops a full range of data stores and data technologies, spanning from big data, through NoSQL, cache-layer capabilities, and analytics; all the way to structured SQL engines.

What your day will look like

The data platform team is responsible for the automation of data platform operations. This includes ensuring fault-tolerant replication, TLS, installation, and much more; but also provides domain-specific expertise on the actual data system to other teams within Canonical. This role is focused on the creation and automation of features of data platforms, not analyzing the data in them.
  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team
  • Write high-quality, idiomatic Python code to create new features
  • Debug issues and interact with upstream communities publicly
  • Work with helpful and talented engineers including experts in many fields
  • Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions
  • Work from home with global travel for 2 to 4 weeks per year for internal and external events
