Key Job Elements

  • Represent Progress Rail Locomotive Inc. while discussing issues with product services, their causes, and solutions;

  • Provide technical guidance to consumers on appropriate setups, equipment, upkeep procedures, and product use to maximize performance and reliability;

  • Track equipment performance and regularly report to sales/service management with suggestions for fixing technical issues;

  • Uphold safe procedures and proper hygiene;

Learning / Training


  • An associate's degree or experience to the same effect is required.

  • BSME or BSEE degrees are preferred.

Competencies And Experience
Required:

  • Medium degree of interpersonal skills to work well with clients and the workforce; Medium level of analytical abilities when problems are difficult; Medium level of oral and written communication skills;

  • Mechanical and electrical ability at a medium level;

  • Understanding of basic inspection and reliability methods and techniques;

  • Being able to read engineering drawings, being familiar with shop procedures and basic machinery, and being willing to move

  • Ability to work in a multi-shift environment for seven days each week.

Functions for both necessary and physical activities:


  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds;

  • Frequent walking is motion. continuing to bend, crouch, stop, kneel, stoop, reach overhead, and climb ladders;

  • Vision and hearing requirements include the capacity to understand spoken and written instructions and to hear audible alarms. the capacity to recognize colors;

  • Workplace surroundings - Surfaces include concrete flooring, gravel, and locomotive floors. works at various heights, including the tops of locomotives and the ground. Work in small areas. a non-controlled temperature environment, in which there is a lot of noise and dust;

  • Emotional demands - Employee must feel comfortable working alone due to the workplace's noise, dust, and personal protective equipment;

  • Health - Health-sensitive places because it operates on or near moving objects like locomotives, rail cars, and active lines. Employees must follow all safety guidelines, submit to all needed medical and/or health examinations, and wear all PPE. include, but are not restricted to, hearing protection, gloves, safety glasses, and metatarsal boots.
