A recent ban was imposed on the people of the Bawku municipality in order to restore peace in the area.
The ban comprised of : a) A ban on tricycles
b)A ban on wearing of smock
c) A curfew in the area
Finally, the restrictions on tricycles in the Bawku Municipality as a result of the war between the two tribes has been given a second thought by the authorities.
The Upper East Regional Co-ordinating council has reviewed restrictions in Bawku and its surrounding communities on this very day, 18th October,2022.
The revision includes the lifting of the ban on the use of tricycles, popularly referred to as 'yellow yellow' or 'Can do' by the people of the Bawku municipality.

A meeting was held on 18th of October, 2022, by the Upper East Regional Security Council (REGSEC), “The temporary ban on the operations and movement of the tricycles is lifted with an immediate effect in Bawku municipality ”.
This is in view of the relative peace that has gradually restored to the municipality . The killing incidents and sudden unrest in the municipality sinks .
The sudden ban on the tricycles has imposed a lot of negative effects on the people of the area . It also follows several appeals by public sector workers in the area facing challenges commuting to their work due to the ban on the use of the tricycles in the area.
The local people also expressed their bad feeling about the ban on the use of the tricycles . Even though a curfew is imposed on them, but they still need to travel with the tricycles within the area.
The Regional Security Council, REGSEC hereby directs the MUSEC to ensure strict enforcement of this clearly made directive as stated on the 18th.
The people of the area hope that, the ban on the wearing of smock and the curfew will be lifted once ultimate peace is restored in the area .
